Fun fan interaction: Stephen endeavors to learn everyone’s name in the audience, or at least the twitter handle of one.
It was nice to put all the twitter shenanigans behind us and get re-focused on the task at hand. Obama is basking in the sweet limelight of a domestic victory in 7 million signer-uppers for Obamacare. This was also a very Northwestern-y episode, with coverage on the recent Union activism going on by some former NU ball players. A lot of people were asking if/when Stephen would cover that story, so there you go. And Stephen, an NU alum, interviewed fellow NU alum and actor enigma extraordinaire John Malkovich. I was excited to see Mr. Malkovich in studio for the first time (it’s been a long time coming, don’t you think!) And he didn’t disappoint. Loved John’s happy, springy blue suit and Stephen’s fixed attention during the interview, interrogating Malkovich thoroughly on his positions regarding farm worker’s rights, and culminating in his sniffing of the guest.
What did you guys think? Let us know in the comments.
MORE TO COME!
Obamacare Victory Lap
- More than 7.1 million people signed up for Obamacare. So embarrassing. Obama missed his goal of 7 million people by over 100,000.
Interview - John Malkovich
Stephen: The invisible hand of the market says you pay people as little as you possibly can, so you can make more money and pay them.
John: Let me put it to you this way: if the world were different and if everybody here’s position was reversed, and we had to cross the Mexican border to find work…don’t you think it’s just a question of simple fairness? That if you work, like they do, like dogs in the blazing sun all the time, that you make enough to eat and clothe a family and educate a family?
