Nation, are you ready for some football?! This episode marks night two of Superb Owl XLVIII. Stephen suits up and gets some lessons on the gridiron in his quest to become a championship quarterback. Does he have all the right moves? Then Stephen chats with David Yarnold, president and CEO of the National Audubon Society. With the help of an assistant, David brings with him Sophia, a beautiful barred owl. Stephen interviews New York Giants defensive end, Justin Tuck, who loves to hear the sounds that his opponents make when he hits them and predicts that the Seahawks will be victorious this Sunday. Hubsters, I don’t know who I’m rooting for, so for now, I am Stephen’s cheerleader!

• There is also talk that kick-offs eventually will be eliminated. How can you call it football if nobody touches the ball with their foot?!
• Place-kicker was the last position available to lumpy middle-aged white guys. But luckily there still might be a place for me - championship quarterback.
• How hard could it be? You put your hands between some guys legs and scream. Welcome to my daily staff meeting.

Fallback Position - Championship NFL Quarterback

Stephen: What was it like to coach that team (Washington Redskins) in the 80s?
Joe Gibbs: It was one of the greatest experiences. I think it’s the greatest town to coach in. I think it’s the greatest sports franchise in the world.
Stephen: Three Super Bowl victories. Huge deal.
Joe Gibbs: I think it’s probably the greatest thing that man can create - is the Super Bowl.
Stephen: Movable print, the pyramids of Giza and the Super Bowl. Not necessarily in that order.

Stephen: Coach, let’s go back to me as a great NFL player. I want the position that gets me the most attention, the most money and the most supermodels with the least amount of physical contact.
Joe Gibbs: You definitely want to play quarterback.

Stephen: I happen to know you’re not wearing a cup. Whoa!
Steve Clarkson: Did I budge?
Stephen: No. That tells me you don’t have testicles.

Steve Clarkson: So, here is a drill that’s gonna help you feel the rush. As a quarterback, you don’t want to see the rush. You just want to feel the rush.
Stephen: Shouldn’t we establish a safe word first?
Steve Clarkson: There’s no safe word.
Stephen: Let’s get one. Pumpkin patch.

Spotted Owls vs. Barred Owls - David Yarnold

Stephen: What is going to happen? Do you think there is going to be a culling of the barred owls?
David: It looks like there will be a culling of some of those barred owls, but I think really the key is to focus on the underlying habitat problem - that those forest in the Northwest have been over logged and not well taken care of.

Stephen: What do owls eat other than Tootsie Pops?
David: So you know about that. You know that they know how many licks it takes.

Interview - Justin Tuck

Stephen: Seattle Seahawks; best defensive team. You’ve got Denver, the best offensive team. So, what does that mean? Who’s gonna take it on Sunday? I’ve got a lot of money running on this. That’s obviously just a joke.
Justin: I think it’s gonna be a great game. They say the weather’s supposed to be bad, so obviously that gives the defense a little bit of an edge. But Payton Manning is pretty awesome at what he does. But I’m gonna go with a close one and say that Seattle squeaks by.

Stephen: How big of a man are you?
Justin: I’m about 6’5 and some change and I’m about 270.
Stephen: Do you like hitting people?
Justin: Yes.
