Cool episode! I didn’t know that Liz was such a good tackler! She really went for it, (I almost thought she hurt herself :/) but good on her for playing along.

We had seen instagram photos and the like for the Astronaut ice cream/park segment, so it was nice to see that (and in timely fashion.) You guys remember when someone else launched Stephen’s little mold sculpture into space? That was a while ago. But it landed somewhere in Connecticut.

Judge Judy was a good interview, it’s just she gets paid like 45 million dollars a year or something for her show, so it’s hard for me to take really anything she says too seriously.

The W. Kamau Larry Wilmore slam was pretty hilarious! I wasn’t sure about his show, I had seen the teasers on CNN with him and the KKK, but hearing him talk about it with Stephen makes me understand what he is trying to do better, and I just might check it out.

I agree, that was a nice tackle by Levin. She’s always great in these pieces, and I’m glad the cold opens are giving the show a place to play with ideas like this.

I really enjoyed the opening monologue. I always prefer it when they joke about Trump’s character rather than his appearance, and the running-mate comparisons were a timely reminder of his less-than-dignified remarks throughout the campaign.

I don’t generally have a strong interest in fashion, but I liked how passionate Zac Posen was about the process and history of textiles and couture. It was also very cool to learn about the connection between Jacquard and computing.

The interview with W. Kamau Bell was interesting and, at times, bracing. I like Bell’s objective of having conversations with, and learning from, a range of different people, and I appreciated Colbert’s very earnest and thoughtful questions about racism in the US. It’s hard to comprehend how the KKK still exists in this day and age, and I value seeing discussions like this on late-night TV.

Oh my god, when they did that Bubble Burst Bernie thing the first time, I almost died laughing. I thought they weren’t going to do anything more with it. I went and played it once. I am not really a gamer, so I kinda got bored with it after only one time, but still….the idea of that is really funny.
