Mp3’s of They Say It’s Wonderful and Humanism (Redux), better version of the show’s theme from Spike Jonze video (instrumental was posted on SoundCloud).

      Thanks Mrc! 🙂

I funded 3 projects yesterday. One project only cost me $33, and it completed a project in “highest poverty” area due to donor matching. I hope they do more campaigns like this, and Stephen highlighting it on the show is the perfect venue.

Finally! We got to see the piece with the teacher. That is so sweet that she kept that cassette after all these years. Clearly, SC made a huge impression on her. It is such a treasure to be able to go back after so many years and thank someone who made such an impact on your life.

  • Stephen visiting his 4th grade teacher was so touching and heartfelt that I got a little teary-eyed. I loved the animation that went along with the cassette tape! I have such respect for teachers or anyone who makes a difference in the lives of children. Ms. Katsos had a huge impact on Stephen. What a hero!

I will also say that in general, (and even on the Old Show), I never thought Administration officials make for the greatest guests. It’s not that they are not interesting, or accomplished, or worthy of the opportunity to be on the show, etc., it’s just that they are there to say how hunky dory everything is under their current administration. Once they leave the administration, then you get the juicy details, or at least a more nuanced perspective.

It was so lovely to see the donors assembled on the show to announce the locations where they were funding projects. Stephen’s love of helping teachers and their students is so touching. It was a little like the times he would get the audience involved in charities back in the Report days. I’m glad they extended the Donor Match another day, so more viewers could participate in it.

I think when he really believes that the cause is good and the charity is ethical, he is really happy to go all in. DonorsChoose and the Yellow Ribbon Fund are his top faves.
