That was a sweet, light episode. Nice energy with Michael Strahan, I did like the field piece with the football players. It gives me the impression that the LSSC team can do football humor! Looking forward to Sunday. :)

This is why I love when Stephen has football people on. He’s so cute when he gets all jacked up trying to pretend he really enjoys it. I can’t remember which female writer said she is the one they go to for a lot of the sports jokes because all the male writers are too dorky…..she’s doing a good job making it look like Stephen knows what he’s talking about haha. I loved that recent article where Stephen says that Evie calls him out on the Super Bowl for wearing a jersey (a hot image) and suddenly caring about the game.

Midnight Confessions is one of my favorite bits on the show. I laughed out loud at quite a few of the jokes. In the field piece there were quite a few good things too, like Jared Allen (used to be one of my guys) saying he listens to the Lion King soundtrack…..and why. I’m so excited for the post Superb Owl show!

And the ending! That definitely put me in a good mood as I fell asleep. Would Jeff Tweedy be considered Stephen’s first returning guest?

Erika, you cracked me up about how the male writers are too dorky to know about football, so they go to the female writer for the sports jokes! Go ladies!!

He actually looked nice when he wore the jersey at University of Pittsburgh, they gave him one when he fulfilled his promise to visit them after they solved the Super fun PAC riddle- remember that? It made him look very down to earth and youthful, I liked that. You can still wear a jersey and not be sporty!

      • Erika Bade

Yeah I remember that. Very sexy, I thought! :) I hope he wears one on Sunday. If he ever wears a Vikings one I would die of the vapors.

And regarding a comment on another thread, he would be great in Minneapolis! He has talked about the twin cities many a time.

wait, when was he on the show before? Carrie Brownstein has been on twice (once performing as Sleater/Kinney, once as author/guest) and Bernie Sanders is returning on the 10th.
(i realize it is very random that i know this information).
(i also just realized you cannot search guest names on CBS’ site)

He was on the first show I thought, one of the special music guests for “Everyday People”? Also, NDT has been on twice, I just remembered

ah, I forgot about that! and NDT! i just rewatched the song from the 1st episode and there were like 50 people on stage! also realized Sam Bee’s show starts exactly 5 months after Stephen’s. d’aww.

Michael Strahan was very enjoyable. I loved Sam Bee! It was great how they talked a bit about their Daily Show days. I was cracking up when Sam introduced all of the footage of Stephen talking about his, lets say, junk. Sam was amazing on The Daily Show and I hope she kills it on Full Frontal! She has a true gift for funny field interviews, which she learned from none other than Stephen. Jeff Tweedy’s lullaby was so sweet. What a great way to end the show.

Michael Strahan is really, really popular - for both football and being dashingly handsome. Every time I talk to non-Colbert fan friends (I know, frightening people) about going to NY to catch a TV taping, they’re like, “hmm, how about Michael and Kelly?”
