The “Kars 4 Kids” song rant was my favorite part of the ep, to be honest. I love Stephen’s dark sense of humor. Happy birthday Jon Batiste! We love you.

I wasn’t too excited about the guests for some reason, so it was hard to stay engaged. The rest of the week is more interesting to me guest-wise, so looking forward to that. I don’t the feeling of “I’ll watch the ‘Stephen-y’ parts and then tune out.” Of course, on the Report, we weren’t *always* raptuously watching the guest part, either, but, on this show, the guest roster seems to be so important. But it’s nice to anticipate and feel connected to all parts of the show, not just the top of it.

I feel the same way that Stephen does about the Kars 4 Kids song!

In all honesty, none of the guests this week other than perhaps John Cleese really jumped out and got me excited. And I agree with Gina that this show is much more guest-dependent than TCR. But I actually did enjoy the energy of the physicist last night (no pun intended).

Stephen’s bit on the Starbucks Christmas cup cracked me up and showed just how incredibly ridiculous this whole thing is. It’s just a damn cup. Why the hell do people care about a cup?! It blows my mind and it is so insignificant. It was so cool that Darlene Love sang “Happy Birthday” to Jon. Happy Birthday, Mr. Batiste…and many more! I adore Viola Davis from Doubt and The Help. She is a suburb actress. It is so sweet that her daughter dressed up as her mom for Halloween! Brian Greene’s experiments were really cool.

I just want to note that one of the custom Happy Birthday songs is for “Raven.” That is all.

The Starbucks bit was my favorite part of the episode.

The part with the physicist explaining Einstein was amazing, when he showed the sun creating gravity with the planets on that big cloth thing I felt I was almost starting to understand what he was talking about - though I never did get the time part. That was an amazing feat for Stephen to bring on a late night show. I liked the part with the dropped water bottle as well.
Viola Davis’ interview was fun as well.
