Author Errol Morris swings by The Report tonight!!

  • Mr. Arkadin

Best show of the week! Everything about it was perfect. The mocking of Putin. The return of the Esteban Colberto. Climaxing in the hilarious sight of twin Rachel Maddow style chicas. So great! Than the magnificent character break during Alpha dog. I love it when he tries to hold it together and he looks like he’s going to make it then, snap! He’s gone.
Only the interview did really work. I don’t think “Stephen” let Morris explain what the book was about. So I have no idea why Morris came to his conclusion that MacDonald is innocent. (BTW I find it shocking the Morris couldn’t find funding for this project. He’s made some of the finest English language documentaries of the last thirty years! Very sad.) But all was forgiven when Colbert revealed the “Ask-O-Matic!”

Mr. Arkadin, I think he didn’t get funding because everyone really, really believes MacDonald is guilty-partly because of the book “Fatal Vision,” but also because every appeal has failed. I think it might have been difficult for Morris to explain why he thinks MacDonald is innocent because it’s probably the accumulation of lots of evidence.

Personally, I am interested to read what Morris has to say, because MacDonald’s story is really, really weird, and hard to buy. I think Stephen’s comment about what somebody stoned would scream actually had some accuracy. By the way, it looks as if Sarah Palin has weighed in on the case! http://www.military.com/off-duty/books/2012/09/21/palin-mcginniss-macdonald-errol-morris.html?comp=7000023659888&rank=4

Yes, some great segments in this episode. I was sooooo happy to see Esteban Colberto back. It’s amazing to hear how good Stephen’s Spanish is. Like Mr. A, I enjoyed the character break. Who could blame him? The “new and improved” Jesus painting is hilariously bad.

  • Anna S

I love Esteban Colberto! Stephen always looks like he’s having sooooo much fun.

    Viva la Rakal Maddow!

The return of Esteban Colberto and that massive character break during ADotW was enough to carry this episode into “Best Of The Week” status. Because OH, that character break was wonderful! And everything, I mean everything, about Esteban Colberto is ridiculous and so, so funny. Anna S is right - Stephen looks like he’s having so much fun whenever Esteban shows up.
