This is a napkin, soaked with Liberal tears. That can only mean one thing. Ladies and gentleman, The Colbert Report is ready to project, that CNN has projected, that Animal Planet has predicted, that the winner of the 2012 Presidential Election is Barack Obama.

Yes, ladies and gentleman, I did read that well. America has elected its first black President, for an historic first second time. Of course, let’s remember Obama is only half black. It is possible that in his second term he will be white.

Just like in Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged’, we are going to leave you parasites behind, and relocate to an island where only rich people can live, Manhattan.

Let’s face it, America’s a quick drunk and an easy lay. Apparently all you have to do is show up in a nice suit, give her free health care, save the auto industry and kill Bin Laden, and that old girl will put out.

But will America respect herself in the morning? You could have gone with that nice Romney boy. What was his name? Mitt? No, that can’t be right, Matt’s not a name.

I just want to taste the tears of unfathomable sadness, that’s all I want.

Well the first openly lesbian senator, cause you’re not fooling anyone Lindsey Graham.

What is this country coming to? Twenty one year olds allowed to smoke marijuana. That makes me want to drink myself into a blind rage and do something I will regret.

The fact I love the most about this episode is that the very first thing Stephen mentioned was his mother 92th birthday. :)

Happy 92nd birthday, Lorna Colbert! We thank you for giving us Stephen-not just giving birth to him but guiding him to become the amazing person he is. Stephen has said you never became bitter in spite of the tragedy you suffered, and I am sure that is one reason you could help mold him into a beautiful, giving human being.

Enjoy your “cake” and know we wish you many, many more years.

As for the rest of the show: I gasped when Obama’s victory was declared during TDS, and was sure the TCR staff would have to do some scrambling to deal with the situation. Well done, all! An excellent show to add joy to a very special evening.

Happy birthday, Mrs. ColberT! How did they do this live show so perfectly! Loved the energy of the live show/crowd, and Andrew Sullivan’s exuberance.

I did notice the balloons strung up on the ceiling in preparation for an obnoxious Romney win celebration-I felt a little disappointed we didn’t get to see them drop.

A fantastic live show! And we got a live Toss(ish) to boot! I was so, so happy that Jon threw it to Stephen before TCR started, and the fact that it was live made it even better.

My favorite part of the episode was the Andrew Sullivan interview. The end of the first act was really great, but Sullivan was wonderful. I loved that he mentioned that he turned it to Fox News right after learning that Obama had been re-elected, I did the same thing! I had to see their reaction, of course. Karl Rove was refusing to let go of the fact that Romney lost and was suggesting (read: ordering) the rest of the election night staff to check the Ohio votes immediately in their “Decision Center.” Needless to say, it was hilarious. I wouldn’t be surprised if TDS mentioned it tonight.

Brilliant show indeed, karenatasha! Both shows tonight were spot-on. As soon as Jon mentioned Fox News, I got giddy because I knew he was getting ready to talk about it. Having watched all of that last night in real time made that first segment tonight all the more satisfying.

I so agree! This was one of Jon’s strongest, and it was fun to see Stephen take on many of the exact same issues in a different, but equally brilliant, way. It’s wonderful to see how they complement each other. (Besides, there can be nothing wrong with a red-robed Stephen eating popcorn and drinking beer.)
