Our poor President gets some graphic enhancements in this week’s custom DNC open:

What did you think? Sound off in the comments.

The 2012 People’s Party Congress of Charlotte - Sound System

  • After an ovation like that, there is only one thing to be said: I accept your nomination as host of this show.
  • It was night one of the Democratic National Drum Circle last night, and I am sad to say, it was a disaster.
  • ….all night there was this constant, buzzing roar, it’s kinda hard to describe (shows footage of the cheering DNC crowd.)
  • What was that? You could barely hear the speeches. You didn’t hear that during the Republican convention.
  • Clearly, they don’t have their act together. I watched it, it was a cacophony of unbridled enthusiasm. They seemed unable to mute their joy.
  • And I am sorry, that volume of pleasure is just unprofessional. The Fox News people could barely hear themselves saying it sucked.

Michelle Obama & Tammy Duckworth

  • 2 Castros? Can we now end the debate that the Dems are socialists, please?
  • I wonder how [Michelle Obama] got that gig. Crony Capitalism, Solendra.
  • I am not going to get into a lot details about her speech, because it was very good.

“It just doesn’t ring true - in here. In here I can tell that all b**ls***. Warm, soul-restoring b**ls***.”

“Romney’s got to get some better b**ls***.”

The whole evening smacked of desperation. Not desperation- what else starts with a “D” that’s terrible- diversity.

“Onstage the Democrats trotted out every race, creed, color, sex and identity, and that’s just congressional candidate Tammy Duckworth.”

“Duckworth: female, disabled, Thai, Chinese, and a veteran. That’s not a convention speaker-that’s not a convention speaker, that’s diversity voltron.”

“The ultimate sign of the Democrats desperation was all the signs. Whether the message was moving forward, or not moving backwards, or just loving the First Lady, these audience signs seem to materialize out of nowhere. “

  • (Realizing he has a sign himself) What the f**k! S**t!
  •
    Michelle Obama’s Speech Tweets

    • The true measure of last night was not the volume of the crowd, or how deeply people were moved. No, it was the twittering.
    • Yes, the thunderous applause shook the rafters, but what did hornyhamburger69 tweet to his bros?
    • Fortunately, when it comes to social media, the news media have their cyber-fingers on the info-net youth pulse. Poke me, Jim.

“Yes, boom, I have never seen numbers like that. 22,004- that number is huge. Especially when you compare it to other numbers that are smaller. Folks, this is the greatest number reporting since Kronkite broke the horrific cannibal story that 7 8 9.”

  • (mocking reporter) “Who knows?” Who cares? Point is, these numbers are out there, and it’s the media’s duty to report them, without the liberal filter of meaning something.
  •

“Well, I am always on the bleeding edge of social media, so I spent all night watching my web meters. Literally this (gestures with arm) I did this with my arm all night.”

“Welcome to the Internet Numbo-tron 3000, where a squared plus b squared = me squared. “

“Holy s**t! That’s a decimal. Who knows what it could mean?!?!”

Sport Report - NFL Referee Lockout

“Yes, the lingerie football league, which explains why Eli Manning got a 15 yard penalty for sporting a whale tail.”

    Interview

“So Obama’s stimulus stimulated Governor Sanford in ways that no one expected. “

    1. Nice job on the six Tammy Duckworths moving back and forth when you scroll up and down, CN Helper. I really enjoyed that… a lot more than an adult should, actually.

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +1

      • The scrolling Duckworths are mesmerizing, I’ll grant you. In all seriousness, she ran for Congress before in IL but didn’t win, something I found surprising given that she was a wounded combat veteran and very well spoken. Hope she makes it into Congress this time around.

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +1

    2. That “7, 8, 9″ joke will always be funny to me, no matter how many times I hear Stephen say it. Also, the Internet Numbo-Tron was one of those things that was so stupid that it was funny, which was so great.

I thought Grunwald did a great job. He seemed nervous at first, but he still got a lot of points across and had a good rapport with Stephen.

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +2

    And that's the Word!
