Michele Bachmann’s Attack on Hillary Clinton Aide Huma Abedin
If you’re a long time viewer of the show, you know that I have warned you about the secret Muslims lurking all around us. I am on to you Al Abama.
That’s why I admire Minnesota Congresswoman and amateur hypnotist, Michele Bachmann… for her brave attempt to root out Muslim extremists from our government.
This past June Michele and her fellow republicans, Trent Franks, Louie Gohmert, Tom Rooney, Lynn Westmoreland, a group often referred to as the Mensa of Congress, sent a letter to the Executive Branch alleging that recent executive government decisions, quote:
In other words, Muslims have infiltrated our government. Exhibit A: Did you know the congressional cafeteria serves crescent rolls. That, is nothing more than warm, buttery Jihad.
Now, folks, these accusations caused a firestorm because one of the suspected infiltrators is Huma Abedin: wife of former underwear model Anthony Weiner, top aid to Hilary Clinton, and an admitted Muslim. Now, these charges were made without evidence and were denounced by republicans John Boehner, Lindsey Graham, and John McCain. Who took to the floor of the Senate and called her accusations “specious and degrading” but yesterday, former Speaker and current not going to president, Newt Gingrich defended Bachmann on the CNN.
Yes, it takes a brave man to randomly accuse someone of something horrible based on no evidence and then demand that they refute the evidence that you don’t have.
So, tonight, I’m accusing Newt Gingrich of being a baby eating werewolf. There it is. It’s out there now. Do I have evidence? No. But someone has to stand up to him… Where do I find the courage?
More to come…
Keith Ellison!!!!!!! I was so excited when I heard the BKAD music. He’s not my Congressman, I’m in the Fightin’ 4th (still much better than Bachmann’s 6th. WAY better), but he’s just on the other side of the Ippississim. I have to admit I groaned a bit at the commonly used Mary Tyler Moore and weather jokes but I guess it’s just something that has to be done if you’re an outsider joking about Minnesota. Plus it didn’t hurt to hear Stephen sing the theme song. Anyway, I’ve been at a lot of rallies and other volunteer efforts with Congressman Ellison so it meant a lot to me to see him on. He’s a really really great guy and does a lot for my community. I’m glad you were all able to “better know” him!
On a fangirl note: Stephen looked really good in that t-shirt. I was a little surprised he didn’t keep it on for the closing goodnight.

Oh and I just have to add one more thing: No snowflakes yet Stephen! In fact, we’ve had some really beautiful weather of late, unlike New York.

Actually, Erika, our weather in NYC has been stunningly beautiful since Tuesday. (Well, mostly, save for a tiny sprinkle today.) But I’m glad yours has been wonderful too!
And I thought Congressman Ellison really rocked it by staying calm, keeping a smile on his face, and generally showing that he gets Stephen. But man…you really need prep to come up again Mr. Colbert!

haha you know, I actually posted that after seeing something about New York weather, and right afterward I found out it was a repeat. So my snark didn’t exactly hold much weight but the former part of it still applies. No snow! In fact, I don’t know if we’ve ever had snow in August….

Rep. Ellison did a great job. I loved the phone call roleplay, with Stephen playing Romney (oh, that creepy laugh was dead on).
But my favorite part of the show was Stephen taking on Bachmann & co., with his pinpoint attack on Gingrich. So nice, I wanna see it twice:
“So, tonight, I’m accusing Newt Gingrich of being a baby eating werewolf. There it is. It’s out there now. Do I have evidence? No. But someone has to stand up to him… Where do I find the courage?”

Jesus Kris! The Bachmann gif is horrifying! But unlike your taste in teenage music, I love it!
And that photo panel of Gingrich is sensational! That was my favorite part of the show. Man, it doesn’t take much to make Newt look like a baby-eating werewolf does it?
BTW: TDS fake commerical about Obama’s wipping out of “The Golden Girls,” top off with the photo of Betty White praying to Obama for her life, was a masterpiece!

Kris I wonder if you loved this ep, (and those Bachmann caps) being a Minnesotan and all. My favorite moment was when Rep. Ellison looked in the camera and affirmed, “Steve’s cool.” Agreed sir.
