August 31, 2012: The Taping ReporT.
Here is a taping reporT from the August 31 show that I went to. It was very spur of the moment. I realized Thursday night, that I had a 4 day weekend and they were taping a show on Friday and that I could go! I didn’t have tickets, but I would just go down to NYC just to see if I could get in on standby and if not I would just have a lovely weekend in NYC. I showed up around 3:30 and there were 3 or 4 people in line. I think I was third on the standby list. I wanted to be first, but it didn’t matter ’cause I got in! They allow the standby people to go off and live for a few hours while the ticketholders still have to stand in line. Hope they will someday allow everyone to take a number and come back closer to show time, but oh well.
I came back at 6, as instructed, and just waited to see what would happen. The peppy blonde audience girl was instructing the new interns on how to deal with all the issues that prop up with audience wrangling. I have to say, even though I would be thrilled to be an intern on the show no matter what, I think if I was assigned to do audience wrangling I would be asking myself why was I stuck with this task? Hopefully they don’t always have to do the same things day in and day out.
