Save the Date: Elizabeth Colbert Busch on ‘The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell’

Stephen Colbert appearances Elizabeth Colbert Busch will make her television debut on Wednesday, February 20th when she appears on ‘The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell’ at 10PM on MSNBC.

On last night’s show, Ryan Grimm of ‘The Huffington Post’ discussed the possibility of Colbert Busch blocking Mark Sanford’s comeback.

(Thank you to Mr. Arkadin for the Tip!)

  1. I don’t want to jinx it but I’m really starting to think that she could win this whole thing. If she gets the nom for the Dems and Sanford gets the nom for the Repubs, she’s got a chance. After all, he lied to the public and all his staff. He just took off on a whim without letting anyone know where he was, but not only that he used taxpayer money to fly to Argentina. I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think he ever paid it back; he was supposed to. Anyway, this should be an interesting race.
It is kinda funny how they pronounce it differently. ColberT and Col-bear.

  2. While I am quite curious to see how this election pans out, I do not like that they made it all about Stephen. I feel as though they miss the point that this is all about Elizabeth and really has nothing to do with Stephen, aside for him being a loving and supportive brother.

  3. “The Last Word” Bump?? THE LAST WORD BUMP? *shakes fist at Larry!* *Grabby hands for royalties on the term “BUMP”*

Ms Lulu Colbert Busch has already had the Colbert Bump and any bump in the polls will be certainly due to that regardless. But true enough, with the results from the last election between Obama and … um, what is his name??? Ritt Money? … ya, what’s his face, there is a good possibility she won’t win this time around but what a great way to get her feet wet, learn the road and come out of the gate in the lead the next time.

Let’s hope though, that the voters hear Mrs. C-B’s call to action so she can face off against her brother in the Eagle’s Nest. Then let’s see Stevie cause her to laugh so hard, she falls to the floor. How gratifying would that be? A total Humoracracy and Familial Win for Mr. C!

  4. I’d say: fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bump-y ride!”

She will be helped enormously by Stephen’s fundraising power. And he is going to keep coming up in this election. While she is absolutely deserving of the win and has the solid credentials, since she does tweet with the hashtag “Sister Colbert,” he won’t go away. And that’s absolutely fine, as long as she carefully balances publicizing her skills with the family name. Whatever will help.

Now, MY personal annoyance in the show wasn’t even the BUMP–which I think he pretty much deliberately stole to be funny (which it wasn’t really)–it’s the mention of Stephen’s SuperPac. When will commentators get it through their heads that he has dissolved the SuperPac, the money has been distributed to charity, and that he is not using it to raise funds for her? C’mon guys, get with the game!

And if they have a bus from NYC to SC to help canvass for her, I’d love to do it. But then again….I think my New York accent and demeanor would probably hurt more than it would help!

And that's the Word!
