A Look Back: Independence Day Edition

Happy July 4th Everyone! We here at CNH hope you are enjoying your holiday with friends, family, and fireworks. Of course, Stephen Colbert and Independence Day go together like small town values and premo, premo meth. Let’s take “A Look Back” and review some great July 4th moments on the Report.

First, a Visually Delightful Appetizer to get you in the USA! USA! mood:

Celebrating the 4th like we all should, citing Shab-e-Yalda (Iranian fruit eating holiday) and basking in the intellectual greatness of Craig T. Nelson:

Fretting Over the War on the 4th of July, with a Surreal Benny Hill reference:

Totally Flag Binging (With some Serious Visual Delight):

A Nascent “Difference Maker” Segment complete with an Exploding Harriet Tubman:

(Anyone need to see that Eye Candy again? You’re welcome.)

Thanks for taking A Look Back. And be careful outside, folks-make sure you take the proper precautions.

  1. No matter how often I see that last picture, I still love it. I choose to believe that “Stephen” is saluting the flag under there.

    Long may it wave!

Oh, please, please, please, let it wave. Just a little?

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +5

  2. Ditto colbaby – LOVE the fireworks!!! (Makes me a little nostalgic for old-timey video games.)

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +2

  3. An adorable Paul/Stephen graphic, hilarious clips, eye candy, and an Exit 57 clip thrown in? Oh Colbert News Hub, you spoil me. And I’ll take it, thank you very much. :D

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +5

  4. Arkadina :@susan209 Oh gawd, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the flag pictures! *wince* Maybe it’s the socks….
    TIP OF THE HAT! +1

You are absolutely right, Arkadina! Those socks need to be taken off! I humbly volunteer!

(And it doesn’t help that in that photo he’s almost as pale as the white rug beneath him. Still, you can tell he was having fun taking that photo.)

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up 0

  5. @CN Helper – I’ve always loved that picture of Paul and Stephen. Along with the “Better Know A Potter” picture, I’d say Cate’s two for two on awesome graphics!

Tip of the Hat! Thumb up +1

And that's the Word!
